System Stability Audit

🛡️ System Audit: 2026-01-11

Executive Summary: The REPO is healthy (git clean, scripts working). The IDE is degraded (Generate Button broken). The PLATFORM is in a stable post-migration state.

1. Core Diagnostics

SystemStatusDiagnosticNotes
Git State🟢 CLEANgit statusMain branch up to date. No detached head.
Build Pipeline🟢 ACTIVEbuild.jsonLast build successful.
Asset Bridge🟢 SECUREsync_r2.pyPython environment healthy. API access verified.
AI Brain (Repo)🟢 ONLINEtest_gemini_key.pyScript can access gemini-2.5-flash. Key is valid.
AI Brain (IDE)🔴 BLOCKEDManual TestSTREAM ERROR. Native IDE button fails.

Audit Ruling: The “Generate” failure is contained to the IDE UI. It does not affect the codebase, the build, or the Python automation layer.

2. Transition State Map

We are currently Post-Migration on 3/4 major fronts.

🔹 Identity (Migration Complete)

  • Old State: ErikNorris (Vanity Branding)
  • New State: eriknorris (Standardized)
  • Stability: High. “Identity Scrub” complete. No mixed-branding CSS classes found.

🔹 Assets (Air Gap Enforced)

  • Old State: Local Copy
  • New State: R2 Sovereign Vault (d:\GitHub\portfolio-assets\R2_STAGING)
  • Stability: High. Symlinks are holding. process_images.py is successfully bridging the gap.

🔹 CSS Engine (Beta Transition)

  • Old State: Tailwind 3
  • New State: Tailwind 4 (Vite)
  • Stability: Medium. package.json shows @tailwindcss/vite and @tailwindcss/typography.
  • Risk: We are effectively running a Beta CSS engine. Watch for “FOUC” (Flash of Unstyled Content) or PostCSS styling leaks.

🔹 Data Layer (Purge Complete)

  • Old State: multiverse.json (Static Monolith)
  • New State: Content Collections + multiverse.json (Generated Cache)
  • Stability: High. The “Event Horizon” purge was successful. No legacy JSON files detected in src/data/timeline.

3. Known Vulnerabilities (“The Watchlist”)

  1. The “Generate” Trap: Attempting to debug the IDE’s “Stream Error” by changing Repo files (.env, config) will cause regressions. DO NOT TOUCH REPO CONFIG to fix the IDE button.
  2. Mobile HUD: The “Lite” HUD is a hotfix. Deep navigation is disabled on mobile.
  3. Ghost Ports: Verify port 4321 is clear before npm run dev.

4. Recommendations

  • Immediate: Ignore the “Generate” button. Use the “Conversation Miner” protocol (Notify User -> Copy/Paste) for AI code generation until Google fixes the platform.
  • Next Action: Proceed with Content Mining (Galaxy/C24). The infrastructure is stable enough to support heavy data injection.
